I am revising the book (six months has brought a lot of new data). One of
the things I am doing is listing the evidence for what separates us from
animals.
I have found the following other things.
1. Statistically mankind is 90% right handed. No other animal population is
so single-pawed. see Kathy D. Schick and Nicholas Toth, Making Silent
Stones Speak, (New York: Simon and Schuster, 1993), p.140
2. Mankind is the only animals which mutilates the dead by use of tools.
The first evidence of scalping is found with archaic homo sapiens at
Bodo, Ethiopia from 300-400 thousand years ago. See Ian Tattersall, The
Fossil Trail (New York: Oxford University Press, 1995), p. 244.
3. The making of carved statues statues (this is not painting) I cite the
Golan Venus from 330,000 years ago.
