Mike Gene
Thank you Mike. A refreshing breath of sanity. I suspect there are
biologists who admit the mechanism of macro evolution is unknown, and that
"random mutation and natural selection" probably had little to do with it. I
wonder what would happen to this controversy if a number of such scientists
had the guts to state that publicly? (Tenure would be a requirement for such
a financially dangerous action.) Everyone gets emotionally caught up
emotionally in controversy. In the absence of understanding in the process
of evolution, I see no reason to "attack" anyone's speculations. I am open
to the possibility of ID, but have no special commitment to the concept. I
admit that my participation in these debates is partly in response to the
arrogant intolerance and disagreeable unpleasantness of those individuals
publicly promoting "random mutation and natural selection". I doubt my
reaction is unique.
