>> And anyone who has met or corresponded with Phil knows
he _is_ a gracious person. But as one of his frequent opponents in debates
said to me once, "He argues like a lawyer." No offense is intended, but
the shock value of the words has been carefully calculated. Some people
will inevitably take offense.

And that must be. I met Phil and heard his debate at the University
of Texas in October -- I was much impressed (I have several
lawyers in the family). <G>
He seems particularly good about honing in on the issues, as
he sees them, without attacking his debate opponent. I like that.
Phil has sent me his trip report for the first nine weeks
of his tour & given me permission to post it on Compuserve. Joe
Carson accomplished that task for me yesterday -- it is file RITB.TXT in section
5
of RELIGIOUS HUMOR.
