While ID proponents are quick to argue that proponents of ID are
somehow exposed to bias and being fired for their beliefs, little is
talked about what happens to others in very similar situations
Come on Pim - would you stop using another opportunity to bash ID. You don't really know that do you?
Last time when you were publically picking on ID on Panda's thumb for it supposed lack of concern about Colling, I who happen to listen to some ID folks was hearing concerns. So just because there is not an official statement does not mean there is no concern.
1. You really don't know if they are concerned or not.
2. You really don't expect them to react to every injustice do you? There is nothing wrong when this group ASA is concerned about Christian being fired for their beliefs, more than some other discrimination.
3. By the same logic I could bash you for not hearing you talk about the injustice being done in other parts of the world. Have I ever heard you mention the slaughter of Moslems by Christians in Serbia (maybe you did). What am I to read into your lack of mention of Sudan?
I did read the article since I get the DesMoines register, but I would caution you that maybe we don't know all the facts. At the very least the professor (sounds more like an adjunct) was not very sensitive to the beliefs of his students and it sounds like he was trying to persuade them that they really should not believe in a literal Adam and Eve. We don't have someone like Charles C to tell us that the situation may be more complicated than was stated in the paper.
It is an interesting case and it was appropriate to bring it to this group's attention but not with your unwarranted slam at ID for not having read the Des Moines register and expressed their shock to you.
