Experiments where test animals brains are hard wired to stimulate the
pleasure center and the animal starves while pushing the happy button?

AMEN!
> I haven't seen evidence of "creationists" proposing

Not exactly. They do it by redefining words to suit their purpose. They
mush together science, metaphysics, and history. Science deals with
repeatable data and relationships, not facts. "First cause" is a
metaphysical problem, not a scientific problem.
(For example) If Noah's flood had occurred after the invention of movable
type then the flood might be a proper topic for scientific investigation.
It is hard to say where historical data mushes into creation myth, but
Noah's flood is definately over the line and is creation myth, but
"Creation Scientists" consider the Genesis story as hard data. And
neither do they understand that "myth" is not a judgement of truth value.
