Conservation of information

Trying to define "information" seems to state the problem
clearly. Whatever "information" is, it is not bits of DNA.
DNA is merely a code which expresses the information.

Most creationists concede that information has been added to
Genomes. (The exception being literal translators of Genesis,
I suppose.) The question is HOW was it added. Creationists
believe in divine intervention. Darwinists seem to believe the
information arose spontaneously, accidentally transcribed itself
into a genetic code, inserted itself into the genome, and was then
selected for by "natural selection". If I had to choose between the
two, divine intervention seems to better fit this Oksam's razor
which some people appear to regard as a "commandment" of their
religion.
