When i checked my e-mail this morning I found 46 messages waiting. About 40
of them were a continuation of the junior high school level bickering
initiated primarily by one ill-informed subscriber who excels only in
contentious baiting and who has set new record highs for obduracy.
I hope that this ends soon so that we can spend our energy on more
worthwhile discussion. The most effective way to deal with a contentious
and obdurate person is simply to respond with absolute silence, followed by
constructive discussion on issues raised by persons who are on the list to
contribute and to learn.
