Most properly, to contend that one should attack arguments -- not character, Jim Bell wrote,
"You will find, if you don't judge motives, that people will listen more to
what you have to say."
Mr. Bell went on to cite the biblical passage found in 1 Peter 3:15 and specifically alluded to "gentleness and respect."
Although I completely agree with Mr. Bell's sentiments, my KJV translates 1 Peter 3:15 as "meakness and fear."
Without starting a debate on translations, I find it interesting to in the light of evolution/creation arguments -- to ask: "Is there is difference?"
Perhaps if both sides approached the larger questions with meakness and fear....
