Russell again:

<<If you believe that, then you are a truly sick person>>

I just knew that you would take this out of context. Please take
careful note of the "if" in the statement above. I was trying to
make a point here. Let's recap. You said:

>I would be a profoundly different person. Remember
>Dostoevsky's dictum: "If God does not exist, then anything is permissible."

This is what I was responding to when I wrote the sentence in question.
So let me ask you, Jim. Do you truly believe that "If God does not
exist, then anything is permissible"? That is, do you think that, if
there were no God to punish you, then you would have no reason not to
commit murder? I suspect that the answer is "no".>>

I believe Dosteovsky's philosophical statement is absolutely correct. It goes
right to the heart of this debate.

Now, as I responded before, if I were convinced God did not exist, I would be
a profoundly different person. I don't know if I would behave morally or not.

But I do know one thing: your opinion that I would be "a sick person" is
meaningless under materialism. It reflects only your subjective opinion, and
that is the main problem you have been repeatedly shown by several people in
this forum.

Hitler thought himself the healthiest of men.
