Agreed that the OEC position may be more diverse, but at least a
statement acknowledging that there are OEC's would be fair. Most
OEC views probably contains these main points:
1. The Earth is as old as radiometric dating reveals it to be, ie.
4.6 BY.
2. Hominids are generally regarded as pre-Adamites.
3. The Biblical Adam was a special creation..
4. Adam is regarded as the ancestor of all H. sapiens.
5. Adam was created between 100,000 and 10,000 years ago.
The views of OEC's such as Ross, Hayward and Pearce could be
summaried. In three paragraphs. I would be happy to write a
draft OEC paragraph for your FAQ for your consideration.
By mentioning only YEC's you reinforce the view that there is only
YECs and if balanced treatment is eventually mandated, your fears
about YEC's "threat to public education" may become a self-fulfilling
prophecy!
Regards.
