Had I given that more acceptable value, you would have added an additional decimal place to correct me irrationally. You two (PvM & Michael) are being nonsensically absurd. Answer the question I asked: > > > > "Suppose the universe began with a Big Bang. We know now more or less the present state of the universe and that of life on earth. How did all come about from that beginning to the present? What laws do you use to make the connection between the beginning and the present state of all that there is." > > > > Moorad > > ________________________________
Why is this question a deal breaker for anyone? It's an oversimplification to speak of making "the connnection" because of course there are lots of connections - 13.7 Gyr worth of physics, chemistry, biology &c. & we don't know how to make all the connections yet - dark energy, origin of life &c. But we know how to make a lot of them via natural processes obeying laws that we have good approximations to - enough to give us confidence that a science operating in accord with MN can continue to fill in the blanks, in part by finding better approximations. & we also have enough experience to know that as we explore new territory, we'll find other blanks that have to be filled in.
When we come to the last few thousand years, Christians will have some reason to think that there may have been isolated events which can't be explained in that way - preeminently, the resurrection of Christ. But that's really another topic which I mention just so no one will say triumphantly, "Don't you believe in miracles?"
