What did George say?
Here's George's hearthrob on the subject. Billy said similar stuff. It also
appears on my favourite (not-favorite - David) all-American website
Freerepublic.
I found the report quite sane and balanced and previously assumed that the
Uncorrect Dissent writers had got it wrong again. That is postjudice rather
than prejudice!
If we now find atheists are looking for grounds to attack Christians then
thank all those peddlers of porkies among the ID and YEC fraternity, who
simply seem incapable of getting things right As the EU report put it;
Creationism claims to be based on scientific rigour. In actual fact
the methods employed by creationists are of three types: purely dogmatic
assertions; distorted use of scientific quotations, sometimes illustrated
with magnificent photographs; and backing from well-known scientists, most
of whom are not biologists. By these means creationists seek to appeal to
non-specialists and sow doubt and confusion in their minds.
Now that is either intemperate writing from politicians or reasonable
observations.

George Orwell would be proud of the Council of Europe - "I predicted it!"
O'Leary
I gather that the move by the Council of Europe to portray intelligent
design theory as a threat to human rights has been put off - for now.
A number of things could be said about the Council of Europeââ,¬â"¢s move.
First that you can be sure that the Council will be back later. Second, no
matter what they get, they will want more. They can't help that. Materialism
is failing and there are ever more "enemies" to suppress.
Third, that the Council twists the definition of "human rights" into
something straight out of British political journalist George
Orwellââ,¬â"¢s urgent mid-twentieth century warnings: Human rights means
being protected by the State from anyone who might challenge your thinking.
