It seems to me that three cosmological ideas have been considered as a
way to get around the (perceived) low probability of start of life:
1.Steady state universe
2.Big Bang/Big Crunch cycle
3.Multiverse
To me they all seem improbable and an X of the Gaps argument. I thought
Wayne's comment was good:
