I am bored with this concern about what label to use and the meaning of TE.
I accept evolution as a sicenitifc theory but not as an overarching
philosophy. I find some liberal theologians eg my late friend Arthur
Peacocke seem to derive their theology more from science than revelation.
Hence TE covers a variety of sins and is often an unhelpful description.
Am I more EC than TE? I dont know and cant get worked up about it.
I am quite sure that I probalbly disagree with George, Don, David and Keith
on various points, but wouldnt regard these as very important. I have no
problem with the consensus of the writers of Keith's PCE and regard it as a
useful volume. I am not far removed from Denis Alexander on these subjects -
and first discussed it with him in 1971 having just had YEC thrust down me
at L'Abri under Schaeffer. When he and I were at Oxford such topics were
scarcely discussed but he had the benefit of being Peacocke's student in
biochemistry and went to his science and theology gatherings in his college
