I grant that the "mainstream American public" is more likely to have heard
of Intelligent Design than of the ASA, but do they know what ID means?
Most of them probably assume that it is antievolutionary and the same as
(lower case) intelligent design. Many may have heard of Behe's irreducible
complexity, but how many know anything about Dembski's theories?
