Although plenty of impolite terms accurately describe the quality of
antievolutionary science, using them in the context of dialogue with someone
favorably inclined to YEC is likely to be unproductive. Of course, that was
not the context of the original statement, but it is advisable to think
about how a statement will sound to someone with a different viewpoint.
This is a significant problem for efforts by well-meaning but theologically
clueless scientists to promote evolution (not so much the use of impolite
words as the unintentional or inaccurate making of theological claims).
