I had written: "They really do believe this crap."

James wrote, in reply: "The last sentence just came out and struck me as
not the way to
communicate with our evangelical YEC brethren."

Dick and Roger and George and many others have tried "being nice." I
presume Jesus may have politely engaged the Temple traders in dialog
before throwing them out too.

I could have used a less polite (but more accurate) word of course. But
as my good friend Roger eloquently put it -- "YEC is crap. And it's
dangerous, despicable, potentially faith-ending crap."
