According to most Christians, Jehovah Witnesses, Christian Scientists,
Moonies, and so on are under a great deception about who Christ is and
what He did on the cross. Now it is clear that on matters of science it
is much easier to deceive people that on matter of faith where there are
texts that people can read and understand whereas most people cannot
neither read no understand scientific articles.

@ Agreed. It's not acceptable behavior to deliberately "lie for
Jesus", and of course, the YEC argument isn't the "only" way it's done.

Which is why I avoid using the word lying which implies deliberate
deception. When I was in YEC circles I got no impression that there was
any deliberate deception. Returning to my hobby horse on imputing
motives as violating the Ninth Commandment, it should be noted that we
do not "lie for Jesus" by imputing non-existent motives. Just because
this appears to be common in YEC rhetoric does not give us license to
return in kind.

As noted by the Scriptures that Janice quoted the standard for teachers
is not merely being without guile. What marks YEC is a lack of care in
avoiding error. Again, as Janice rightly noted YEC does not have a
corner on that market.
