This is not the correct way to label someone who believes genesis contains
allegories. You can be a biblical minimalist and practice conservative religion.

behavior) are rationally and conservatively sound (or not) does not depend on
the existence of an Adam.

And that's right. We still all got original sin from "Adam" because we can't
pinpoint when the first "man" was bequeathed with "reason and wide
understanding" or the "knowledge of good and evil." But we know it occurred because
animals don't have it and men do, all men -- and in that "reason" and "knowledge of
good and evil" is the evil from which we must be saved.
