When I sifted through the books at the ASA office when I moved in, I discovered one by Pitirim Sorokin but I haven't had a chance to read it yet. For what it's worth, his son, Peter, reported to me for many years at IBM. He was the second, after Charles Townes, to build a laser.

Btw, has anyone out there read the Orthodox Icon-painter, turned revolutionary, become President of the ASA (Sociological Association) Pitirim Sorokin? It would seem to connect nicely with the Eastern Orthodoxy component and maybe somehow draw parallel with Ohio's CWU Center for Altruistic Love.
