Yes, well said below. The thought also came recently to the effect that secularizing the sacred is as dangerous as sacrilizing the secular. Science in 'the east' is not the same as science in 'the west' - this part is clear.
   
  Btw, has anyone out there read the Orthodox Icon-painter, turned revolutionary, become President of the ASA (Sociological Association) Pitirim Sorokin? It would seem to connect nicely with the Eastern Orthodoxy component and maybe somehow draw parallel with Ohio's CWU Center for Altruistic Love.
