"In other words, the fourth
Gospel is a late theological creation, the church putting words into the
mouths of John the Baptist and Jesus, and reversing the stress that the
previous three Gospels had placed on works, on doing, on being forgiven by
God when we forgave others. "
Hmmm
Am I not understanding what you are saying here, or are you guilty of not
reading the gospels carefully?
John the Baptist, the son of Zechariah, (Luke 1 and 2), is not the same
person as John the Apostle, the author of the Gospel of John, and John's
epistles, and Revelation, who is the brother of James and the son of
Zebedee, (Matthew 4, Mark 1).
