I have some YEC tapes which are great illustrations of their logic.
Basically, when there is an unsolved issue of major scientific theory,
this proves that the earth is 6,000 years old. When the mystery is
solved, this just shows that scientists cannot be trusted because they
are allways changing their mind as opposed to the YEC postion which does
not change.
One of these tapes shows one of their elder leaders claiming that the
smooth microwave background proves the Big Bang is wrong. Actually, the
measurements at that time were not sensitive enough and more sensitive
experiments were later conducted. The results so far are in line with
theory and tell a lot about the geometry of space, etc.
Another tape talks about the missing solar neutrinos and therefore the
earth is 6,000 years old and nuclear physics has major errors. Not so.
Recently, the solar neutrinos may have been :"found" and for a popular
account see the recent edition of Discovery magazine.
