Thanks for this excellent link! I've only skimmed the article by Tony Boys
that the link in your web page points to (at 5:00 AM, it's a bit early), but
it contains lots of interesting data. Wish the "sustainable energy crowd"
would read this. The comparative data in Tony Boys's article also shows
(once again) the disproportionate high demand of North America on the
dwindling supplies of fossil fuels.
One could, of course, argue that the DPRK funnelled its scare oil towards
its military, but that does not take away from the connection between oil
and modern agriculture: the current high population density can only be
sustained by an affordable supply of oil.
Not only will we freeze in the dark, we'll be hungry, too.
