This does not explain cryogenic structures, which are associated with
Permian glacial deposits in Australia, nor the oxygen isotope shifts. The
geographic patterns tend to fit plate-tectonic based paleogeography; I
don't know why submarine landslides would be so constrained. Even the
Pleistocene northern hemisphere glaciations have an important
plate-tectonic factor-the closing of the Isthmus of Panama.
