Is the Earth at the center of the Universe? Geocentricity is the big name
for
this position. Heliocentricity holds that the sun is at the universe. In
reality, neither of these are held to by modern scientists. The more science
opposes Scripture, the further from the truth it gets.
Some have asked, "Why is this important?" From a scientific perspective it
is
rather important since it would save a lot of time running down dead-end
rabbit
trails which would save the U.S. Space Program lots of money, and the list
goes
on.
>From a theological perspective, geocentricity is in harmony with the Bible,
while all other positions force theologians into exegetical and hermeneutical
cartwheels in an effort to harmonize Scripture with science. G. C.
Berkouwer, a
famous Dutch theologian of this century, is reported to have departed from
the
inerrancy position of the Bible because of his conviction that science had
proved geocentricity as erroneous. Previous generations have done the same
with
evolution, though it is now making a come-back, as science is finally
admitting
to its error. It is interesting that science seems to have the final say in
the
minds of most, thought this is clearly backwards.
In any case, evolution depends upon the long-age of the earth and the
long-age
of the earth depends upon something other than geocentricity. If
geocentricity
is not rejected, both the long-age of the earth and evolution will become
like
Humpty Dumpty's great fall.

I want to introduce to you Mr. Philip Stott. He has been to the U.S. twice
now
and the interest of his audience is growing considerably. He has been
invited
to speak again to the Creation Science Institute in Florida and others have
likewise expressed interest.
Mr. Stott is a British-born professor who presently lives in South Africa.
He
has lectured widely on the subject of evolution, science and geocentricity.
He
is an excellent speaker for radio, TV debates, Christian schools, science
fairs,
seminaries, colleges and universities. I highly recommend him to you. He
has
lectured widely throughout Europe, Russia and Africa, and just recently in
the
U.S. and Canada.
I heartily recommend him as a speaker to the serious minded Christian
interested
in the contrast between today's science, falsely so called, and the Bible.
While Mr. Stott is a scientist, his science is biblically based. From that
perspective, science can certainly endorse the Scriptures.

Among his topics is his unique and compelling presentation on geocentricity
(the

When he spoke to Westminster Academy's (Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church)
science
department, most of the teachers said, "How will I ever be able to teach the
sun
being the center of the universe anymore? This really is going to change the
way I look at things."
He is very capable of interacting with any questioners of all varieties
especially those with science backgrounds. Most of his experience is with
non-Christian audiences. Christian audiences will find him even more
compelling. Many atheist scientists in Russia have become more convinced of
the
viabiilty of the Bible after hearing his presentations. His British accent
will
charm most people, and his knowledge of his subject and the Scriptures as
related to the subject is superb.

1: THE WISDOM OF GOD AND THE WISDOM OF MAN Duration one hour. A wide-ranging
overview contrasting God's wisdom as expressed in the Bible, and man's
wisdom,
particularly as found in "science". It touches among other things geological
and
Biblical time, dinosaurs, "ape-men" and evolution. This presentation is
usually
given as the first of a series of slide shows, or as the most usual for "one
only" presentations for Christian audiences.
2: EVOLUTION A CRITICAL ASSESSMENT Duration one hour. A searching
examination
in a scientific manner, but easily understandable for non-scientists. This
presentation is particularly effective in challenging those brought up on
(and
indoctrinated with) evolution to face the fact that the theory is
scientifically
untenable, and is based on a religious (not a scientific) foundation. This
presentation is given from a scientific viewpoint, but is useful for
Christians
since it shows how weak evolution theory really is and exposes its religious
roots.
3: A QUESTION OF TIME Duration one hour. An examination of the evidence for
the
age of the Earth in particular, and the whole creation in general. Given from
a
scientific viewpoint, but useful for Christians to see how weak the evidence
against the Biblical time scale actually is.
4: CATASTROPHE ! Duration one hour. An examination of evidence for a major
catastrophic event leading to an enormous world-wide flood. This presentation
also examines some of the most popular "scientific" objections to Noah's
flood.
A "purely scientific" version is available for non-Christian audiences.
5: WHERE IN THE UNIVERSE ARE WE Duration one hour fifteen minutes. An
examination of our position in creation, and the disastrous effect for the
church of abandoning the position that the Bible shows us to have. The
longest,
most difficult, but possibly most important of the presentations. A "purely
scientific" version is also available (duration one hour) for non-Christian
audiences.
6: AIDS Duration forty-five minutes An examination of the disease and its
rapid
spread into society. This presentation suggests that the change in accepted
moral standards resulting from evolutionary thinking is a major factor in the
rapid spread of the disease. But more than this ... information being given
to
the public is in striking disagreement with reports in the scientific and
medical journals. There appears to be a deliberate misinformation campaign by
certain organisations who are using it to bring morals-corrupting programs
into
society in general and schools in particular.

7: PROBLEMS IN ASTRONOMY Duration forty-five minutes. 8: AN ILLUSTRATED
HISTORY

PHILIP ROBERT STOTT Pr.Eng. M.Sc.
Philip Stott was born in England in 1943. He studied Civil Engineering at
Manchester University where he obtained B.Sc. with Honours and M.Sc. degrees.
He lectured in Civil Engineering at Universities in Nigeria and South Africa
for
six years. Throughout this period he was involved in research into the
analysis
of geometrically non-linear structures. In this connection he was awarded the
Henry Adams Award for a paper in the Proceedings of the Institute of Civil
Engineers in London in 1967.
After leaving Wits University he joined an Engineering Consulting firm in
Bloemfontein and worked on various projects in South Africa and in Lesotho.
In
the late 1970's he spent three years doing part-time post graduate work in
applied mathematics at the University of the Orange Free State. This work was
in
the field of analysis of non-linear systems.
He has more recently worked on the design and construction of the largest
auditorium in South Africa, and while involved with this project he became
interested in the basic assumptions underlying modern scientific thinking.
For
several years he has been lecturing on the effect of these basic assumptions
in
the fields of Biology, Geology, Geophysics and Astronomy at universities,
colleges and other institutions. He has frequently addressed universities,
conferences and special interest groups abroad, particularly in France,
Germany,
Switzerland, England, Belgium the Netherlands and Russia.
He is the author of several books "Vital Questions" (a full length book) and
"The Earth Our Home" a short introduction on geocentricity for high school
science classes intended to be chapter one of a new science textbook. His
writings have published in several languages. We also have several audio
tapes
of his presentations and questions and answer sessions as well as a
full-length
video series (6-7 hours) available (5 90 minute video tapes). Write for
