I have started a discussion in About.com on the topic "Are Scientists
Atheists?" which is getting some interesting comments from a good many
people. I thought you might like to join the discussions; the ideas are
well presented and intelligently discussed.

Follow the trail below:

Society, etc
Civil Liberties (a discussion of the Kansas School Board decision is
what captured my attention), then the Are Scientists Atheists forum

The following is my introduction to the forum:

<< I am an evolutionist and believe in God. I have heard (and been
told) that evolutionists by definition are athiests.

What do you think? Is that true? Not true? Why?
What about scientists in general? Cosmologists tell us that the Universe
is billions of years old. Geologists tell us that the earth itself is
billions of years old, and biologists tell us that life began on earth
over a billion years ago. Since Genesis says the earth was created in
six days, does that make these scientists athiests?

There is no empirical evidence for the existence of God. Does that
mean God doesn't exist? Life cannot be created in a laboratory, does
that mean life can only be created by supernatural means, namely God?

Please discuss and share your opinions and beliefs in this forum.
Flamers are to be ignored; thoughtful, insightful, intelligent
discussion only is welcome. Everyone is entitled to believe as they do
-- flaming someone only wastes space and will change no-one's opinions
or belief.>>
