I asked this question about a year ago. Several people
graciously shared what information they had. (Not like the
e-mail "Jerry Springer Show" going on now).

What I understand from these recent postings is that Neil
and Buzz expected the moon dust to be less than 3 inches.
This expectation came about because of Soviet and American
lunar probes that provided this information. I think that
the issue still holds weight. Before the dust was measured,
there were still many who expected a great depth of dust
that had accumulated for 4 billion years.

Glen, I believe it was you who related a story about the
scientist who placed large pans atop the tallest (Andes?)
mountains to measure meteoric dust. I don't remember the
results.

Is the 30 years that has passed since the first landing
enough time to have accumulated enough dust to make a
calculation of how much should have accumulated, (in 4
billion vs 10,000 years)?
