serious thought to the idea of "fractal dimension", a mathematical
construct, as an indicator? It legitimately covers the elements of
aesthetics _and_ hard mathematical analysis of design. I believe that it is
adequate to cover everything from physics to biology, (and most other
dynamic systems).
