Well, since God doesn't seem to want to do it anymore, I guess we have to, each and every one of us. The important distinction is that we can only do it for ourselves; we cannot do it for anyone else. So while this has been an interesting debate, what it comes down to is a debate over each other's personal standard, not over which interpretation is correct. That's like arguing over which tastes better, chocolate or vanilla ice cream. There is simply no way either of you can win that kind of argument.
