he came from Adam directly using genealogies."
Actually, Matthew only traced the genealogy as far as Abraham, and that was
as far as he had to go to fulfill his purpose. It was Luke who traced
Jesus back to Adam, because Luke wanted to link Jesus to all mankind, not
just the Jews.
