Not a single sentence, word or syllable can be added or subtracted
from the Bible. The Bible is fixed and unchanging for all time. The
Bible is a description of a RELIGION and may not change because it is
forced to be the "Alpha and Omega" of the Truth(tm).
Creationists like to make the charge--Phillip Johnson chiefest among
them--that science and especially evolution are RELIGION. And then our
creationists are shocked when science doesn't ACT like a religion.
ROFL!
No fragment of science is the Truth(tm). Every feature and detial of
science is always being added to, deleted from, poked, prodded,
pinched, rearranged, rewritten and turned upside down. Science is a
QUEST for truth. Science makes religionists uncomfortable and unhappy
because it consists solely of questions and possibilities that seem
reasonable in light of current evidence. Religion wants the comfort of
solid, unchanging answers. If a scientist is wrong about something she
considers it her sacred duty to find out how she is wrong and to find
more information to at least temporarily clarify the questions.
Religion just doesn't have that luxury.
