At least this means we agree that invoking a deity is definitely not something that can be tested.
And 'testing' does not mean necessarily laboratory either. One can form hypotheses and try to find data supporting these hypotheses without laboratory type research.

I'm looking for an explanation that can be tested as we test any other
theory.
