It seems that an underlying feeling in comments like
"true naturalistic evolutionists hate IDTers as much as the hate TE's."
is that theistic evolutionists are TE's not because they think that it is
the best way of thinking about the relationship between faith and science
on the issue of origins, but because TE's somehow want to appease
naturalistic evolutionists with their acceptance of evolution.
I for one am not out to impress anyone with my beliefs on these topics. I
don't need the approval of the scientific community. I accept these views
because I think they are true--it's as simple as that!
As for Will Provine--he's only acting out his religious views as
consistantly as he can. While I believe that his opinions are an erroneous
extension of his evolutionary views, he is being more wholistic in his
worldview than many Christians. A motto in the circles I walk in is "Life
Is Religion". All that one does is an expression of his or her religious
orientation. Will Provine is doing that with his religion just like all of
us were made to do, do, and should do.
