inspiration vs. inerrancy

Someone wrote here that the notion or doctrine of inerrancy results from
the notion or doctrine of inspiration (my paraphrase of what was said).

Although that's an accurate statement of what has been thought or
held, the view is a serious error. Inspiration does NOT imply inerrancy.
The notion of inspiration of the writers of texts that became part of the
Bible is a good one -- I think it's true. But being inspired does not mean
that one is inerrant.
