Dave Schmidly came to TAMU years ago as new faculty. When
he got word of a stranded right whale on the Gulf coast, he
drove down to examine it. Returning home that evening, he
was treated to the news anchors whooping it up: "Did you
hear about the Aggie professor who went to pick up a ten-ton
whale in a half-ton pickup?"
