Most authorities on the Quran believe that Jebel Judi, which is spoken of on
those pages, is in Saudi Arabia. The Jebel Judi in Turkey was not so named
until Islam moved north out of Arabia. Mohammed would not have known of the
Turkish Jebel Judi and the ancient non-moslems, non arabic speaking people,
would not have given an arabic name to a mountain north of them. (Davis Young,
