John Rylander has rightly understood the intention of my first post. I do not
care to spend a lot of time arguing my position in this type of forum (It is
tempting, but I prefer to explain my position in books or refereed journals).
I did, however, want to suggest that the term "Intelligent Design," as it is
now being used by Johnson, Nelson, Meyer, Behe, Dembski, Moreland, et al.,
entails BOTH "thoughtful conceptualization" AND "supernatural assembly." Both
criticism and defense of the ID position should, therefore, take the two
distinctly differing elements of the position into account.
A second comment. Before the term "intervention" can be useful, someone will
have to construct a list of the several meanings of the word so that people
can be better assured that they are talking about the same thing. (The
familiar "apples and oranges" problem)
Respectfully,
