A good article on problems with the evolution of the eye can be found in
the Christian Scholar's Review XXIV:4 (May 1993). The author, John Baldwin,
is a theology professor at Andrews University who teaches courses on the
science/theology interface. He presents an argument similar to Behe's line
of argumentation, calling his argument the "Argument from Sufficient
Initial System Organization." Baldwin calls Dawkins' confidence in his
gradualistic explanations and interacts with some of the recent scientific
literature on the subject including a detailed computer simulation of eye
evolution. The article is well-written and worth reading.
