First, let me suggest that you not learn of my views from Jim Bell. I do not
believe in an emerging humanity nor do I beleive in an Incipient humanity.
Jim uses these types of statements to engage in debate. You asked me if I
felt that Neanderthal was human in the sense that you defined. I said yes.
Why don't you ask me instead of depending upon Jim who really doesn't like nor
does he want my view to succeed.

See above. I DO NOT BELIEVE IN AN INCIPENT, EVOLVING HUMANNESS/IMAGE OF GOD.
Have you really read my web page????

Two things need to be said here: First, if all humans have this intellect, why
are New Guineans in the forests so backwards? It is not for lack of intellect
at all. It is for lack of an environment that allows and encourages
inventions. They are fully human like you or I. What they lack is
TECHNOLOGY.

Secondly. Assume that you and your family were the only survivors on earth
just like Noah. Tell me. What does iron ore look like? Do you know how to
find coal? No? Well then there goes the iron age. How about copper ore, do
you know what that looks like? No? Well there goes copper tools. Do you have
enough food for you to eat while you build a smelter, mine the ore etc. Who
is going to provide you with food?

Do you know how to build a loom? spin thread? No? You might be a might cold
this winter. Do you know how to tan hides?

Farming? Sure you might plant a small crop but you won't get much. It takes
2-4 months for the crops to come in. What are you going to eat in the
meantime? While you are out hunting, the wild animals are trampling your
farm, eating your crops and giving you the lowest yields per acre that mankind
has seen. Farming requires lots of time to tend the farm. Since you can't go
without food for 4 months you must hunt.

You have to first catch and kill an animal. Do you know how to make a stone
tool? Make a bow and arrow? Can you kill a deer from 25 yards with an
unfeathered arrow? Do you know how to make glue to attach your feather to the
arrow? Do you know how to straighten the arrow shaft? How long do you age
the wood? If you don't know these things you and your children might become
naked savages.

Do you know how to store food with no refrigeration? With no refrigeration you
are going to have trouble keeping the crop stored for the winter. Do you know
how to quarry rock and make mortar to build suitable storage facilities for
the crop? No? I see bad things in your descendants' future.

These are the problems Noah would have faced. As much knowledge as Noah might
have had, he could not possibly passed it all on to his children.

Because of this, there would be a long, long dark age while technology was
re-developed. This is what the archaeological record is seeing. It is the
re-development of technology.

Unfortunately everyone seems to think it was so simple for Noah to resume his
life and living standard. If the flood was anthropologically universal it
would be anything but simple. And after a couple of generations why would
anyone think that if you heated rock, metal would come out of it? There would
be no reason for anyone to think about making metals. And your precious
civilization would be a long time in coming.
