A minor matter, but one that needs to be explained.
I have changed my email name to "Steve". I have been "Steve" to
everybody I know in real life for 40 years. But when I joined Fidonet
in 1994, I discovered there was a "Steve Jones" also on Fidonet, and
since Fidonet addresses work by name and not by a unique address like
the Internet, we received each other's mail. So I changed my Fidonet
name to "Stephen Jones".
Well, today I quit the Australian Fidonet's Creation vs Evolution
echo, since it took up too much time. Therefore, I might as well
start calling myself "Steve". I will leave my tagline as "Stephen"
and my mailer "Preferred Real Name" as "Stephen" to avoid
confusing the Archive too much.
But from now on, I will sign the foot of my messages as "Steve",
and at the start of mesages, I would prefer you address me as
"Steve" (although I won't mind in the slightest if you call me
"Stephen".
Apologies for this "much ado about nothing", but it makes me
feel much better getting my normal name back! :-)
