Capon's exegetical hypothesis, similar to one used by
Bob Newman in his book on Genesis One, is a version of
what is usually called the "intermittent day" approach:
the days are literal days, but there is lots of time
between each one.

Unlike many others, I think labels tend to help in discussions
like this, where the variety of positions can become
bewildering. Although labels can be bad because they can
help us overlook the persons behind them, they are for taht
reason also good because one can discuss and argue about
specific positions held by persons without directly attacking
the persons. And this is always a good thing; it was Boyle's
appproach, incidentally.
