I am post-doctoral research assistant at the University of California
at Berkeley. I entered biology through a backdoor, ie. chemistry,
and started in biochemistry/enzymology. I currently do research on
the regulation of nitrogen metabolism in enteric bacteria (such as
E. coli & Salmonella typhimurium).
I've been interested in the evolution/creation discussions since I
was about ten. I've found it fascinating to be in the field of
biochemistry at a time when many new tools have been developed to
examine previously intractable questions in evolution.
If pigeonholes are helpful, I am essentially an agnostic and a
methodological (not philosophical) naturalist. As such, I
tend not to get into discussions of purely theological (or
Christian) issues.
I'm familiar with a few of the people who seem to be regular
contributors to this group -- Hello again Andrew, Bill,
Jim Foley, and Brian.
And hello to others on the list I haven't yet met.
