Of course. Who am I not to forgive?

I admire Glenn for trying to forge a theory. But that's a tough thing to do,
especially when it is so far off the beaten track. That's not an argument
against going off it, but we ignore traditional teaching at our peril, and
have to be sure we are precise. I have found Glenn's style hard to follow at
times, but maybe that's just me, which is why I keep asking for
clarifications. I do know it is difficult to communicate in short messages,
rather than in a full book, so I appreciate Glenn's attempts to set me
straight.

I remain troubled by the notion that Noah and his world were around 5.5
million years ago. That Noah was a creature made "in the image of God" but
somehow was not "modern man." That there was a 3.5 million year dark age. I
know these things have to be worked into the theory, but they look more like
Achilles' heels to me. I wish I could respond to Glenn's theorizing like I do
to Walter ReMine's, but I can't. Not yet, at least.

Perhaps at this point it would be a good idea to agree for a change--viz, that
some traditional Christian teaching on this subject is woefully inadquate and
needs updating. Of course it does. But so does traditional science teaching,
especially in the high schools. And our colleges and universities are filled
with Naturalist apologists whose goal in life seems to be the establishment of
a secular religion.

I met a young man who had read my novel, and wanted to tell me about his
college biology class. His professor would spend hours chiding Christians for
challenging Darwin's theory. He asserted there is no God, and it is foolish to
believe so, etc. etc. I gave this young man my card to pass along to the
teacher, and said I'd love to come down to class one day and engage in a
little "discussion" (as Marcia Clark invited OJ to do). Never heard back.

But I do hear back from Glenn. So I have appreciated this discussion. Let us,
as descendants of Noah, made in the image of God, keep praying earnestly and
keep seeking the truth.
