<<Even if I did feel the charge were valid, I do not see how a forum such as
this can proceed with remarks such as this being aired to the forum as a
whole. IT IS UGLY!>>
With all due respect, the personal reaction of ONE member to a message
questioning his viewpoint is what created what you call "ugliness."
You addressed your post to "Jim Bell, Kevin Wirth, and to all." Missing was
the one name that put the sour spin on this conversation, the name which
brought the word "cowardly" into the conversation. I think it is unfair to
single out those who've kept their comments focused on the issues raised, and
didn't explode into something more personal.
On this wonderful reflector, we should be able to challenge views and expect
respectful responses. Even when those are "hard hitting", it should not get
personal. That's what good, solid debate is all about.
I agree 100% with Kevin's views on this. No one is putting Glenn down
personally. I, for one, respect his hard work and zeal, and I've said so
publicly.
But he can't expect to espouse his views (and denigrate those of others)
without reaction--and exploding in a written tantrum is no answer either. And
it is quite unfair to allow such a reaction to pin the label "ugly" on others
of us who just want to discuss the issues.
