make sense for God to have someone build a boat for 120 years when it would be
sufficient to walk for only a week to get away from where the flood would
occur. There is afterall, the 40 day period whe of rain when the water is
rising. Surely, one could still walk during the first part of this time."

The Mediterranean basin is 900,000 km squared or so. You would have to walk h
undreds of miles to get away from the effects of the filling of the basin. As
the water pours in, the air is push up until it escapes from the lip of the
basin. At that point, the movement of air will be like a front moving out
over the surrounding "plateau". The rainfall would extend far from the
basin's edge.

In no view of the flood, except that of a creek rising, would one be able to
walk during the first 40 days. Calculate how many feet of water the YEC's
want deposited on top of Houston on a per hour basis, if they are ultimately
to cover mountains 12,000 feet high! I get 12.5 feet per hour. You wouldn't
be able to walk after a single hour. If you believe that the flood was in the
Tigris Basin, then maybe your statement can be true about walking, but then
how do you have him land on a mountain?

Thanks for the words of encouragement. At this moment I will take all I can
get.
