Hi Russ,
I'm not a theologian so cannot address how literal the historical account of
Genesis should be taken. But I don't believe that atheists and TE's are in
the same camp regarding the truth of the Bible. By definition atheists
exclude it as the word of God. TE's could very well hold a strong view of
biblical inerrancy and believe that the Genesis creation account is mostly
to explain the relationship God has with the creation and man's place in it,
rather than to explain actual origins. Of course, people of great faith
have completely different views of this. The point is, atheists and TE's
are far apart in their respective viewpoints of the Bible and I don't feel
that they can be lumped together in this regard.
Cheers,
Steve
