Evidence for evolution

Mon, 29 May 1995 12:14:22 -0500 (EST)I would like to solicit some bibliographical information from the readers
of this list. My question is this: If you could suggest two books that
best summarize the evidence for Darwinian evolution, what books would you
propose? I am a first-year graduate student in biochemistry, and for the
first time (largely in thoughtful response to Terry Gray's postings) I am
weighing the theistic evolutionary model as a plausible and biblical
account of origins. I am familiar with the important evolutionary
arguments, but I have never taken a course in evolution. Most of my
knowledge has been gleaned from popular level works (by Gould and others)
in books and periodicals. I am planning to engage in a more systematic
study of the scientific evidence supporting biological evolution, and I
would greatly appreciate any suggestions of textbooks or popular works
that can present the best case for evolution.
Gratefully yours,
Mike Farley
