There is no doubt that government control of healthcare is a slippery slope. The real question is how steep the slope is. I would certainly not put my trust in any government. Those who claim to solve all problems, social or otherwise, assume the god-like position and so are extremely dangerous. Following such people essentially throws our Constitution, with its checks and balances, out the window. Recall that the Christian faith emphasizes the value of the individual, witness the Shepherd going after the lost sheep, and that man is a fallen creature who cannot be trusted, therefore, the checks and balances.

Like many things Rush says, that is a crock. It presumes the "slippery
slope" argument, which is woefully weak logic.
