I do not judge anyone and I trust nothing I wrote was in that spirit. My
note was intended to respect the integrity that Bernie has. If he feels that
he cannot conscientiously affirm our statement of faith and remain an ASA
member, I respect that, even if I am convinced that he is still "in the
fold" to use your terminology. Similarly, when some claim to affirm that
statement, I will respect that and not judge "I don't believe you are really
sincere or consistent with your other beliefs." I hope everyone understands
that I do not claim that the ASA statement of faith is the definitive
criterion for being a Christian, just for being an ASA member. The
underlying creeds contain the essential truths of Christianity but I will
not be the judge of any person. It is between them and God.
